TIKA releases her new single “Rescue Me” from her forthcoming short film, “Limerence”

The classical and poignant record comes just as TIKA emerges from her almost 5 year tenure at the Canadian Film Centre where she has graduated as a film composer.

The track, which is completely composed by TIKA & co-composer Japz, uses beautiful harps, gorgeous string lines and stunning and harmonious vocals and layers.

The track is released on all platforms just in time for Emancipation Day.

“Limerence” will be playing across major film festivals in 2025 and will showcase TIKA’s acting and composition debut. The short film is directed by Victoria Long.

I wanted to touch on the fact that no matter what is happening within our world, Black Womxn do not get the permission to heal before enduring triggering + racialized experiences that fuel ongoing trauma.
